Programmes, Grants, Scholarships
• December 2003 – December 2005 with Th. R. Hemmert: Sachbeihilfe der Deutschen
Forschungsgemeinschaft (Research Grant of the German Research Foundation) for one
PhD position and expenses under contract GR 1887/2-2 for two years in continuation of
GR 1887/2-1, see below. Title: “Effektive Feldtheorie: Elektro-magnetische Prozesse an
Nukleonen und leichten Kernen” (Effective Field Theory: Electro-magnetic Processes on
Nucleons and Light Nuclei).
• September/October 2003 Reisekostenbeihilfe der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (Travel Grant of the German Research Foundation) under contract GR 1887/3-1
to participate in the programme “Theories of Nuclear Forces and Nuclear Systems”, INT-033, Institute for Nuclear Theory, Seattle, USA.
• since April 2001 Research Associate, European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear
Physics and Related Areas ECT*, Trento (Italy).
• April 2001 – November 2003 Independent and individual research grant as member of the
Schwerpunktprogramm SPP 1034 “Untersuchungen der hadronischen Struktur
von Nukleonen und Kernen mit elektromagnetischen Sonden” of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. (Focus Programme “Investigations of the hadronic structure of nucleons
and nuclei by electro-magnetic probes” of the German Research Foundation). Research grant
for one PhD position and expenses under contract GR 1887/2-1 for two years, entitled “Effektive Feldtheorie in der Kernphysik: Elektromagnetische Wechselwirkungen von Systemen
weniger Nukleonen und Pionen” (Effective Field Theory in Nuclear Physics: Interactions in
Systems of Few Nucleons and Pions).
The programme was an intense cooperation between theory and experiment in order to use the
new experimental possibilities available at low and intermediate energies at the accelerators
ELSA (Bonn), COSY (Jülich) and MAMI (Mainz) in an optimal way.
• June/July 2000 Sachbeihilfe der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (Research
Grant of the German Research Foundation) under contract GR 1887/1-1, “Two and Three
Nucleon Physics with Effective Field Theory/Theory of Compton Scattering off Deuterons
with Perturbative Pions”.
• 1997-1999 Member of the Heisenberg – Landau Programme, Project 97: Homogeneous
Vacuum Gluon Fields in Axial Gauge QCD, leaders G. V. Efimov (JINR, Dubna, Russia)
and F. Lenz (Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg, Erlangen).
• August 1993 – July 1996 Member of the Graduiertenkolleg Erlangen – Regensburg “Physik der Starken Wechselwirkung” der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft.
