As moving image works continue to dominate contemporary
art, the art market has responded by reshaping itself in
an attempt to accommodate such practices. Taking into
consideration a number of emerging acquisition practices,
the panel seeks to open up new insights into the position of
film- and video artists in relation to the art market. What are
the different ways of collecting film- and video art? How do
traditional forms of collecting relate and differ to emerging
ones? Who are the potential buyers interested in these
emerging forms of collecting?
