Deze ééndaagse module met Dr. Kirby bestaat uit een lecture in de voormiddag en een
workshop in de namiddag. Om je leservaring zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken en om de
interactiviteit met de andere deelnemers en de lesgever te bevorderen, beperken we het
aantal deelnemers tot 40. We beginnen om 10.00 uur en ronden af om 16.00 uur.
Over Dr. Kirby
Dr. Kevin Kirby is een Amerikaans wereldbefaamd, toonaangevend biomechanicus en
adjunct-professor aan het departement van toegepaste biomechanica in "The California
school of podiatric medicine". Hij is de auteur van verschillende boeken en publicaties over
biomechanica van voet- en onderste lidmaat.Daarnaast behandelt hij nog steeds kinderen,
volwassenen en sporters in zijn praktijk te Sacramento.

Dr. Kirby completed his Bachelor of Science degree in animal physiology at the University of
California at Davis in 1979 with high honors. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 1983, graduating in the
top 6% of his class. His first year surgical residency was at the Veteran's Administration
Medical Center in Palo Alto with clinics an rotations through Stanford Hospital. He then went
on to do a second year of postgraduate training in the Biomechanics Fellowship at the
California College of Podiatric Medicine where he also received his Master of Science
Degree in Podiatric Biomechanics.
After completing his Biomechanics Fellowship in 1985, Dr. Kirby moved to Sacramento
where he has been practicing podiatry in an orthopedic group for the past 27 years. His
practice specialties include podiatric surgery, sports medicine, foot orthotics, and pediatric
and adult foot and gait abnormalities.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Kirby is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of
Applied Biomechanics at the California School of Podiatric Medicine, is a member of the
Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, is a
Manuscript Reviewer for the Journal of Biomechanics and Journal of Foot and Ankle
Surgery, and former Chairman of Podiatric Surgery at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento. He
is Board Certified in the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric
Medicine and is a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California. Dr. Kirby has written
extensively on the subjects of foot orthotics, biomechanics and sports medicine. He has
written three books on foot and lower extremity biomechanics and foot orthosis therapy and
foot biomechanics which have been sold to podiatrists in over seven countries. He has
authored or coauthored a total of 25 scientific/medical papers in peer-reviewed journals. In
addition, he has authored chapters in four podiatric medical textbooks. Dr. Kirby is frequently
invited to lecture both nationally and internationally on the subjects of foot orthotics,
biomechanics and sports medicine and has given numerous lectures in Great Britain, Spain,
China, Australia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and throughout the United States.
